Minimum # of Girls Per Week for Summer Camp Raised.

We were going to only take 6 girls per week in summer camp this coming summer in order to allow the girls to have more sewing time each day.   There have been so many girls trying to sign up for camp, however, that in order to not be turning a lot of girls away we have decided to raise our weekly enrollment maximum to 9  and we have figured out another way to structure our daily format so that everybody will STILL get more sewing time!  YEA!!!

Adult Sewing Party is sew much fun!

These women are all originally from Michigan but several of them have scattered to other parts of the country.  That hasn’t stopped them from getting together periodically to keep their friendship alive and when they do they like to include doing something crafty.  Sew Crafty was lucky enough to be their chosen activity when they got together in the Triangle recently.  They chose to each make a tote bag, so Toni had a nice selection of tote bag fabrics pre-cut to expedite the process and each woman customized her bag by selecting a different combination of bag fabric and pocket and strap fabric.  Most of them also created a unique applique to put on the pocket.  Everyone was very happy with their bag and they all had a great time!  YOU can schedule a sewing party , too!  Contact Toni to make arrangements.

Seems really early in the year to be making Summer plans, but parents know that to get their kids into the summer camps of their choice they  need to sign up early. Sew Crafty’s Summer Camp schedule is now ready and we’ve already  started taking registrations!  This year will be even more competitive as we are only taking SIX girls per weekly session in order to enable  them to get more sewing time each day.

New Session of After School Sewing Club about to start

On Tuesday, Jan 15th, the next session of After School Sewing Club will begin.  Girls from Central Park School for Children will be attending on Tuesdays & Thursdays and girls from Montessori Little House of Durham will be attending on Wednesdays.  The After School Sewing Club has become quite popular for girls in 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th grades from several Durham schools.  When there are 3 or more girls enrolled from one school the Sew Crafty staff can even go pick them up!  The girls get picked up right at dismissal time, they have a snack upon arrival at the sewing studio and then they can sew to their hearts content til they get picked up at 5:30.  The program is geared to accommodate all skill levels – each girl can work on the project of their choice, so it’s fun for everyone!

What can a girl DO for FUN when school is closed over the Winter break?  She can have Sew much fun sewing at SEW CRAFTY!
