Quilting Workshops

Quilting has a long established history of being a social activity.  Sew Crafty wants to continue that tradition by offering Block-of-the-Month classes and Workshops that create a Full Quilt Top.  We also want to share our awesome long-arm quilting machine.  You can take a lesson to learn how to use it and then rent it by the hour to complete your quilt.  We currently are developing these new programs, so stay tuned for more information!

Half-Hexi Table Runner

$50 — 3.5  hrs

For this project we use the “Half-Hexi” block method to create a table runner.  We add triangular ends and then you can quilt it in a number of ways.

Abstract Placemat

$50 — 3.5  hrs

Super easy “Quilt-as-you-go” placemat looks great and is really fun to make.  This is a very easy project – perfect for a Beginner! We will have strips of pre-cut fabric in lots of colors for you to select from to create your placemat.

Carpenter’s Star Wall Hanging

$50 — 3.5 hrs

This is yet another example of a project that looks complex, but it’s NOT!  We’ve made templates to help you lay out each quadrant of this pattern and it’s so easy you won’t believe it!  We will just have time to make the top of this quilted wall hanging – you’ll have to quilt it and bind it at home OR you could bring it into Sew Crafty during a Sewcialzing session to finish it.

Stained Glass Quilted Wallhanging

$45 — 3 hrs

This is a fun project that will be offered on the first Saturday of each month and be taught by Sue Law.  Sue is one of the Assistant Teachers that helps with the Summer Sewing Camp.  There will be lots of pre-cut half-hexi shapes cut out of lots of fun fabrics for you to choose from to make your “window”.

Quilted Potholder

$35 — 2  hrs

This project could serve as a gateway to making quilts!  Learn how to piece together a “9 patch” and “stitch in the ditch” and how to put a binding on quilted fabric. This is a super easy project, excellent for beginners. You’ll have a cute little potholder when you’re done and you’ll be on your way to making a real quilt!

Log Cabin Quilt Block

$35 — 2 hrs

The Log Cabin quilt block is a staple block that can be used to create SO many different looks depending on how you distribute the colors. In this class we will make 4 small Log Cabins and combine them together to create an “X” of color in the center.

Three-in-One Quilt Block

$35 — 2 hrs

Learn three cool quilt block techniques in one block. Make a small “Pinwheel” then do some “Log Cabin” around it and then finish with the “Exploding Block” technique. You can turn your finished block into a pillow OR make a bunch more at home and sew them all together to make a whole quilt!
